Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia Signs MoU with Cambodia Trade Enterprise (CTE) to Boost Financing and Support Exporters and SMEs

PHNOM PENH — June 12, 2026: On the morning of Friday, Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia (FTB) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodia Trade Enterprise (CTE). This strategic partnership aims to establish a collaborative framework to facilitate, enhance, and provide financial support mechanisms to exporters and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Cambodia.

Mr. Dith Sochal, Chief Executive Officer of FTB, stated: “Today’s cooperation reflects our steadfast commitment to supporting Cambodian farmers, agricultural communities, and SMEs. We firmly believe that by delivering tailored financial solutions, we will significantly enhance the competitive edge of Cambodian exporters on the international stage.”

Under this MoU, both institutions will focus on key strategic areas, including:

  • Enhancement of the export of Cambodian agricultural products and agro-processing industry including the rice that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been granted export quotas and market access as well as the rice mill and the rice processing plant, cashews and cashew processing factory, corns and corn processing factory, cassava and cassava processing factory, mango and mango processing factory.
  • Development of tailored financing products for exporters, including pre-export, post-export, and working capital financing.
  • Facilitation of credit access for eligible exporters under agreed criteria.
  • Information sharing on export sectors, market opportunities, and financing needs.
  • Capacity-building activities for exporters on financial literacy and export financing.
  • Promotion of risk-mitigation instruments, where applicable. This collaboration between FTB and CTE will serve as a vital catalyst in driving national economic growth, empowering Cambodian products to expand their reach in international markets more broadly and sustainably.
